About Rick Weinstein

Rick WeinsteinInnovative financial professional and life insurance veteran, with pioneering experience in leveraged life insurance

The founder of Life Insurance Services for Charitable Giving, Rick Weinstein is consistently raising the philanthropic bar by inventing strategies that effectively use life insurance and interrelated estate planning concepts to unleash the power of leveraged philanthropy. A native of Northeast Ohio and a graduate of Ohio State University, Mr. Weinstein's early career included a stint with Price Waterhouse (known today as PricewaterhouseCoopers) and subsequently with several financial companies engaged in energy and real estate syndication. His life insurance practice evolved in the mid-nineties through his affiliation with several Fortune 500 financial services companies. It was during this tenure that Rick forged a specialized financial practice for ultra-high net worth families.

In 2001, Mr. Weinstein was recruited by one of these families where he continues to serve in a key value add role. Mr. Weinstein's analytical skills, organization prowess and strong work ethic enable him to visualize, create, develop and implement innovative and scalable insurance strategies. Mr. Weinstein's visions are motivated by big thinking but not at the expense of overlooking the vital details.

Following this success and motivated by a love for and devotion to charitable giving in its many forms, Mr. Weinstein retired from the investment advisory business in order to concentrate on selling mega-life insurance policies (a pre-cursor to transitioning to Life Insurance Services for Charitable Giving). The result is that he has become recognized as a creative force in the specialized area of leveraged life insurance. Leveraged life insurance is an intricately structured finance arrangement that is frequently utilized to maximize capital returns on life insurance. As testimony to the efficacy of this strategy, since 2003, the leveraged life insurance policies originated by Mr. Weinstein on a collaborative basis with the professional advisor community have averaged 20 million dollars in face value per policy.

Without exception, Mr. Weinstein's recommendations are designed with risk aversion in mind. Policy performance is of special concern to charitable organizations. These organizations cannot afford to come up on the short end of the performance stick. In fact, given the volatility and uncertainty of the stock market, Mr. Weinstein has not written a single stock market performance linked variable life policy dating back to 1999. This conservative approach sharply contrasts with the proliferation of riskier policies whose performance is linked to the stock market. This philosophical disparity is consistent with Mr. Weinstein's conviction that capital allocated to charitable causes must not be subjected to inordinate stock market risk. This common sense approach provides the highest probability that qualified organizations will most assuredly receive their leveraged windfalls.
